Asphalt Field Technician Course
A certified Asphalt Field Technician is now required on all paving projects. This course is also required to test Asphalt Compaction.
* New for 2019: All certification testing has been moved to an online format that will require the attendee to have a laptop, tablet or iPad type device to take the test. The use of smart phones during the test is prohibited.

The course will begin with registration at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30 for the Radiation Safety portion of the course. Registration for Asphalt Field & Compaction Technician course will begin at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31. The course will end upon completion of the test andpractical exam on Friday, August 2. Course instructors consist of WV Division of Highways,WVU and Industry representatives.
A three-day cancellation notice is required for a full refund if unable to attend course after registering.Location
WVDOH Material Division, 190 Dry Branch Drive, Charleston, West Virginia Attendees are responsible for making all reservations for lodging. Lodging can be obtained at any Charleston area hotel but the Country Inn & Suites (304-925-4300) in Kanawha City is the closest to WVDOH Materials. Please make reservations as soon as possible.
